Giant Sloth Megalonyx jeffersoni Cast Hand Claw

Megalonyx means “giant claw.” This giant ground sloth used its claws to strip leaves and tear down branches. It was given the species name jeffersoni in honor of President Thomas Jefferson, who did much of the early study of the animal. This animal's common name is Jefferson's Ground Sloth

This cast measures 6.5 inches long. This is a cast of the original fossil, research grade in quality polyresin and hand-painted. Colors may vary.
