Deinonychus was an early member of the raptor family, distinguished by a large sickle shaped “killing claw” on its foot. Some scientists speculate that it was used to kick at the vulnerable bellies of its prey while hunting for food.
This cast Deinonychus killing claw measures 3.25 inches long. This is a cast of the original fossil, research grade in quality polyresin and hand-painted. Colors may vary.
