This tooth is from Otodus obliquus a large extinct mackerel shark. Scientists believe this species of shark could have been as long as 30 feet. The tooth is between 54 and 33 million years old and Otodus obliquus was a probable ancestor of Megalodon, the largest shark ever to swim the oceans.
