Sometimes called fossilized lightning! When lightning strikes sand, the particles can melt and fuse together in less than a second. If conditions are right, the fused sand takes on the form of the lightning bolt. Fulgurites are hollow. These specimens are approximately 2 inches in length. Each is truly one-of-a-kind.
